Testimonials:

Client: Smith Residence

Ryan was great to work with. He is very responsive, very knowledgeable and thorough. He provided a beautiful, updated design for the exterior of our house. We look forward to working with him on our next project.

Client: Corbin Residence

Sophisticated vision, good collaboration and strong team. Coordinated with all involved parties and used new rendering tools when helpful. Great experience.

Client: Standish Residence

Ryan Duebber designed a significant and dramatic home remodel for us. We describe the project as basically building a new house from the inside out. His work product included construction requirements and finishing and design details, and he worked very closely with our general contractor to oversee delivery on all details specified. An additional complexity was distance - our home is in Cleveland and Ryan is located in Cincinnati (a distance of 250 miles). We selected Ryan not only because he is an excellent architect with great technical expertise but because his eye for design and detail is unparalleled. He also listens well and is highly collaborative. Ryan was also instrumental in our GC selection process (identifying and interviewing candidates remotely, and our GC was terrific too). We absolutely love the end product and are amazed how smoothly everything proceeded through both the design and building phases. Despite the size and scope and breadth of the project, and the physical distance between house and architect, we would literally change nothing about the end result - from master to office to great room to dining room to master bath to vanity to kitchen. He was great!

Client: Raymar Kitchen

We were referred to Ryan by our cabinet maker who quickly realized that the scope of our project was way beyond a cabinet update. Having never been through a remodel project of any scale before, we were apprehensive about the project. At our first meeting with Ryan, he outlined the process from conceptualization, to design and blueprint production, through construction. Working with Ryan was easy as he communicated well, was organized, punctual, and really listened to our thoughts and concerns. He was very accurate in his estimation of budget which helped us plan accordingly. The process moved smoothly from design to construction and Ryan was helpful in the selection of contractors by providing me a list of questions for them to answer. During the construction phase, Ryan was available to both us and the contractor to answer questions or solve problems as needed. Some of the specific design elements that have enhanced our project are the beautiful curved steps that enter the kitchen, a toe kick design that makes the cabinets look more like free standing furniture, the presence of a radiant heater beneath the island, special spice cabinets to house my extensive assortment of spices, and a custom made yet affordable exhaust hood for the range. Ryan's help was also invaluable for selection of cabinet hardware, backsplash tiles, and lighting, We love the finished project! Ryan took a severely dysfunctional kitchen and gave us a beautiful, functional, and comfortable space for our busy lives to come together.

 Client: West Bath

Our project included a complete remodel of two bathrooms, a study, a walk-in closet and a laundry area. Both baths now have large tiled walk-in showers and one has a stand alone tub. We went from a somewhat traditional to a very sleek but soothing, warm design. The remaining work was done largely as a consequence of the impact of the changes in the other areas. Ryan was amazingly creative and was a joy to work with. He very quickly captured what we imagined we wanted and translated it into a beautiful architectural design. He is very knowledgeable about the latest products and his suppliers and contractors were very high quality and trustworthy. I would buy from or hire any of them again. Ryan was easily accessible, easy to work with and has a great sense of humor, which is a real plus when undertaking a major remodel. Deadlines were met and we are happily enjoying the finished product. This is the best remodel experience we have ever had and I only wish that I'd known Ryan when we did our previous projects!

Client: Miller

Ryan Dubbber Architect remodeled a bathroom in our house. The job involved identifying plumbing that needed to be replaced or repaired, creating a design with new fixtures and furniture, helping to select a new color scheme and materials. Ryan did all of the architecture work, he also helped to select paint colors, tiles, fixtures, and toilet and sink. He then helped to identify a series of contractors that executed most of the work. He also helped us identify those tasks that we could complete ourselves to save money. He did an excellent job in every aspect of the project. His part of the work was always done on time and in budget, and he did a great job of following up with other contractors to keep them moving along as well. When a problem came up with some of the fixtures, he directly coordinated with the supplier to solve the problem. I highly recommend his work.

Client: BC Residence

I found Ryan after practicing the fine art of Google-fu. I was impressed with his demeanor, aesthetic, portfolio and vision after our first meeting, and decided to hire him. I provided him with a Mission Impossible of makeovers- we had a small, cramped master bath that looked like someone had thrown up travertine on every conceivable surface. I wanted something that looked open, airy, and very modern. There was a commercial a few years back where a family brought a faucet in to their architect and said, "Design a house around this." I did the same thing- I presented Ryan with a photo of a stainless steel Japanese soaking tub (an ofuro) and told him to design a bathroom around that...and he delivered. I am certain that most architects dread working with control freaks with illusions of grandeur and fixed budgets, and I, unfortunately for Ryan, am both. He accommodated my various attempts at design and was very patient with my changing around some of his ideas due to budgetary constraints. He made suggestions for fixtures and finishes, and worked around my Ebay purchases and alternate products that resembled his recommendations but were a bit less expensive. As with all remodels, problems cropped up during the demo work, and Ryan took it all in stride. He adjusted his initial vision to accommodate the issues as they occurred, and I feel that the finished product far exceeded my expectations. I feel like I am living in a multimillion dollar mansion every time I step foot in my new bathroom. Ryan also made a few changes to our master bedroom (addition of a skylight and conversion of a bay window into a large picture window) and the improvements there have really changed the overall mood of the room from dreary to welcoming. The benefits to working with Ryan is that he provides an estimated cost sheet that allows one to follow costs as they occur. This proved invaluable and is a perk that was much appreciated. Poor Ryan also had to act as intermediary with a less than stellar vendor and managed to smooth many a ruffled feather. He worked well with my contractor and made suggestions for other contractors and vendors that (with the exception of one) worked out beautifully. Would I recommend him? Absolutely not...I want him to design my future home and I will be unable to do that if he is swamped with commissions. All joking aside, I cannot recommend him highly enough, and to paraphrase the brilliant wordsmith Nigel Tufnel, "He goes to 11."

Contractor: ParkCraft

Ryan Duebber has been a pleasure to work with, he is extremely professional and personable. We would highly recommend him to clients as well as family and friends.

Contractor: Wagner Remodeling and Construction

I am a general contractor who has worked with Ryan Duebber on kitchen, bathroom, family room, and basement remodeling projects. Ryan's designs are creative yet practical. His use of colors, textures, materials, shapes and sizes, and lighting are always "spot on" for the overall design. As a general contractor in Cincinnati over twenty years, it doesn't get any better than hearing a homeowner say at the end of a project, "This is even better than we expected". I hear that on a regular basis on Ryan's projects.

Client: Deters

We worked with Ryan on the exterior remodel of our lake house. Ryan was meticulous and very attentive to detail. Ryan's creativity, professionalism, and flexibility are unmatched. He listened to our ideas and intent and came up with a design that exceeded our expectations. He was in continuous contact with us and our contractor, ensuring that everything was completed to his specifications. He did a fantastic job and we are thrilled with the finished product. I would highly recommend Ryan.

Client: Weiss

My wife and I were very fortunate to have Ryan onboard with us for this journey of adding onto and completely altering the look and flow our house. Ryan brought to life our contemporary vision with his approachable and collaborative demeanor. We presented a tough challenge with tying into an existing roofline, and Ryan's vision/recommendations stood out well above all other architects we consulted. By presenting several visual options, it made our decision very easy.

Very thorough with everything he does, his detailed allowance sheet gave us a great foundation to budget our spend, giving us the financial line of sight we needed for this project. Detailed preliminary plans allowed us to get solid bids from all contractors, while his construction drawings possessed key points being called out to ensure our satisfaction once in the completed space. Ryan has the expertise to call out all the critical details, culminating in a superior finished product.

Other features of Ryan's services include his ability to provide tangible visual options which assist in building material selections. He always makes himself available for consult, and has collected a wealth of vendor options over the years. Now that the project is nearing completion, we are extremely happy with the feel of Ryan's layout. We are tremendously satisfied and would recommend his talents to all.

Client: Weatherstone

After consulting several kitchen design companies, we chose Ryan for the complete architectural design of our kitchen/family room remodel. His design was completely outside the box. He took our dated, closed in space and created a beautiful, open and efficient living space. We also chose Ryan for his modern aesthetic. He understood the look we wanted to achieve and worked hand-in-hand with our contractor to complete a contemporary space that blended well with the rest of our more traditional house. He was also extremely helpful with design details such as lighting, wall color and tile selection. Ryan is very professional but also very easy and fun to work with. He made the remodeling process much less painful! We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen and living space. It is stunning!

Client: Erie Avenue Condo

Ryan is very professional and we enjoyed working with him. He worked with us from the bare walls to the furnished space. Ryan is great with wall color choices and has great vision. We get lots of compliments on our new space and freely give Ryan all of the credit.

Contractor: RVP Photography

As a photographer, its my job to show off the work of many people who worked hard to create a beautiful, meaningful space. This process all starts with the client & someone like Ryan. Ryan's work is sleek & creative, so the end result is something worthy of photographing. Always fun to see what kind of designs he whipped up!

Client: Welker

Designed our new 3000 sq. ft. home located in farm country. Very complete design including construction requirements, inside and outside details (e.g. example kitchen design, finishing details, etc.) and worked closely with general contractor to oversee delivery on all details specified. We went to him with very specific requirements and specifications. He listened carefully and delivered to us plans for our new house in which we are now living. We absolutely love the end product and are amazed how smoothly everything proceeded through both the design and building phases.

Client: Burns

Ryan Duebber designed a powder room remodel including custom wood mirror frame, cabinet and shelf; copper sink, toilet, faucet, stone wall and stone/wood floor. He listened carefully to my requests. He created with thoughtful consideration to make the new design meld with the rest of the house, be a beautiful gem, and be completely functional. In his design he was able to solve all the potential problems I had thought of. He has terrific color sense and knowledge of materials and construction, was timely and within budget. He also was great help in resolving with the contractor a few issues that came up with the installation. Ryan was creative, professional, friendly, upbeat, thoughtful. The room now looks beautiful, beyond what I could imagine from the plans. My all around good experience was well worth his fee. Total project (design, materials, install) cost about $12,000.

Client: Picton

Ryan provided the design and architectural services for the renovation of our 100 year old house. I am thrilled with the result. My wife and I had ambitious plans for the house including removing the central load bearing wall. Ryan provided the technical guidance and expertise to allow our vision to be realized.

Client: Heltsley

Ryan transformed our modest lake cottage into our second home. Ryan managed to capture our style and imagination with his "modern rustic" design. He took the time to get to know us and was therefore able to reflect our personalities fully in the project. He was "hands on" throughout the renovation and personally ensured that the plans were followed by our general contractor. We could not be happier with Ryan's work.

Client: Sterling Outdoor Living

Ryan Duebber was a pleasure to work with on our home improvement project. My husband and I had a good idea of what we wanted but weren't sure where to go next to get the project completed. We wanted to turn an unused space into an outdoor family gathering space and we also needed an overhaul of our master bath. We met Ryan at a home improvement show and immediately hit it off. It was if he could read our minds and our project was exactly what we wanted and even better than we could have ever imagined. Visitors to our home often tell us our backyard looks like it came right out of a design magazine! Every day I look at our bathroom and can't believe it belongs to us. Ryan is an excellent designer and we would love to hire him again when we are ready for our next project. We would highly recommend him to anyone needing the services of an architect. The projects he completed for our home won multiple design awards and we couldn't be happier!

Client: Robison Residence

We did a major overhaul of our kitchen/laundry/butler's pantry and 2 downstairs bathrooms. This was an enormous job which involved replacing or upgrading every major system in the house, including the foundation. Just to give you a sense of the scope, we discovered after demolition that there was only dirt under our kitchen floor. Ryan does a wonderful job of balancing his roles as a designer and as a go-between the client and contractor. He helped us clarify the scope of our project; what we wanted, what we needed and then turned that into something very easy for our contractor to interpret. He made himself available for consultations when it was necessary. I think his drawings were pretty complete, though, so I don't remember him having to come out more than once or twice. He did stop by frequently to check on the progress as it was underway. For us, some of the highlights of working with Ryan were: 1. We had small children and he was GREAT at helping us plan how to block off the construction and live without a kitchen for five months. 2. He designed around some very challenging issues, coming up with creative solutions to tricky HVAC requirements, level changes, and some original features we wanted to preserve (like a very odd-sized little door in the hallway). The solutions were elegant and well designed. 3. Ryan works well collaboratively. I had an idea for our island--a table-height counter for the kids to sit while I cook at the island. I didn't want to worry about them falling off tall stools while I'm busy. He was open to it and worked with me on it. It has turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the new kitchen. The kids love it. Overall, our finished product is period-appropriate and beautiful. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to work with him.
